guess who's back, back again

to whom it may concern:

contrary to popular belief. i actually am alive. and well. and FINALLY writing again! yay. sorry for making y'all wait, i know it was tough ;) patience.

wowwwww well CHRISTMAS! was sooo good. talking to everyone was awesome, especially hearing people's voices. ahh. like heaven. I LOVE YOU ALL:) it really made me realize what is important in life. i didn't really care much about my presents (even though they were awesome, mom! and actually i lied. cheese powder for popcorn is life-changing.), i was just so STOKED to talk to the fam. ohhh happpppy daaaaay.

mission christmas party lowdown: i sang a duet with hermana kendall. in spanish. YAY. not. we ate turkey and mashed potatoes in the Hilton hotel. we watched Despicable Me 2. SO GOOD. great day.

tidbits:

my comp told me i was sleep talking in spanish. FINALLY

i was walking down the street, innocently eating my bag of chips, when this homeless guy asked me for them.. so. i eat the last chip.. and hand him the bag. he gets really excited.. then yells at me how mean i am... oops.

the other day we went to teach out adorable old couple investigators, Elena and Oscar. we knew her uncle had just died, so when we got there and saw a bunch of people gathered and she told us to come in and 'share something', we assumed it was like one of those cute things where you share nice comments about your loved ones.. ya know. DON'T EVER ASSUME. EVER. we got sucked into an HOUR long Evangelical church session where this crazy pastor was screaming at me and got mad cause i didn't know how to clap and sing their songs and the whole time me and Scotty are just sitting there trying not to die laughing with tears streaming down our faces. so: the story of that one time i went to an Evangelical church in my investigator's house.

one night. innocently chillin' on my bed, about to hit the hay. (also, there was a mentally unstable hermana staying at our house.) when our house straight up shakes. i think there was like a mini earthquake or something. so, crazy hermana legit jumps into my arms then.. the cat fight starts. literally, gang of cats fighting, screaming, crying in our backyard. cats here sound like crying children. so crazy hermana starts to freak out about how there are children being murdered in our backyard... you can't make this stuff up.

tried sushi for the first time. i feel like Nicaragua wasn't the opportune place to do it. BUT. the past is the past. and like we've discussed. i'm alive.

little thought for the week: well i guess i'll talk about Christmas a sec. AH. Christmas was so good. i hope y'all just had an amazing one, and that you realize how blessed you are. To have your families and friends, and to have the material items that you do. I realized today that as i complain to myself about how i live.. there are people who come to the mission and live WAY better than they do at home. This girl came to stay with us last night, and was in AWE at our house. She had never seen a double burner stove.. or a house with 3 bathrooms.. she told us it was the best night of her whole mission. Man. literally am just learning here how incredibly blessed i am. looove it:)

welll LOVE LOVE you all and am so so GRATEFUL to have you in my life:)

xoxo hermana wheat
